Mt. Adams Getaway Cabin Elopement
Getaway Cabin Elopement
When the pandemic happened in 2020, Jessica & Roark quickly knew they would need to pivot their wedding plans. So, like many couples, they rallied their closest family and friends - and their pup Charm - and planned to elope at this Mount Adams Getaway Cabin just a few hours from Portland, Oregon. After my husband and I summited Mount Adams the year prior, it was a big heck yes, when they told me of their new plans to elope in the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest with Mount Adams as the backdrop to their ceremony.
A Simple Camping Elopement
Jessica and roark pulled this pnw elopement together quickly because they focussed on what mattered most to them - a cozy cabin, inspiring atmosphere, their closest people, and good food.
After Jess & Roark were dressed and ready, we hopped behind the cabin in the forest with wildflowers blooming and had their first look. Following their first look, we headed to an overlook just off the main road for their ceremony. The two had their best friend officiate, while the two shared their vows with one another. After, we headed back to their Getaway Cabin campsite for charcuterie, vegetarian taco, and brews. Of course, we finished the night around the fire roasting marshmallows.

Camping Elopement Timeline
Here’s a simple camping elopement timeline to inspire your own camping elopement:
-get ready at your cozy cabin
-do a private first look and portraits among the wildflowers
-head to a view point to exchange vows & pop champagne
-make campfire tacos back at your campsite
-tell stories and roast marshmallows into the night
One key thing to consider when planning a camping or adventurous elopement is the “venue”. Of course a gorgeous backdrop for your ceremony plays a big role in deciding on where to elope, but it’s important to also think about where you’ll be getting ready and where you want to spend time after your ceremony for food, champagne, or an intimate evening sitting around a fire with your loved ones. This Mt. Adams elopement was located at the Getaway Mt. Adams Cabin and it could not have been more perfect. It provided a cozy getting ready area for the bride and groom, was already apart of the gorgeous Gifford-Pinchot National Forest, and was a gorgeous spot for their dinner and campfire after the ceremony to celebrate. These tiny cabin nestled in nature are sure to make your elopement both beautiful and memorable.
Kind Words from Jessica & Roark
“Kassidy is so creative and has been so amazing to work with! She was so flexible and understanding with having to postpone our wedding which ended up turning into the most perfect intimate elopement at Mt. Adams. We could not have done it without her! She went ahead of time to scout out trails and a ceremony location options. It made for the most perfect day with a few of our closest friends family. With every shoot we have with her, from capturing our engagement, elopement, and most recently our maternity shoot, she creates such a comfortable and fun environment. We are so thankful we can look back on these moments forever. She is now a forever friend and our go-to family photographer. We can’t recommend Kassidy enough!”
