Boho, Pacific Northwest Elopement
“That when things are hard, we would remember the unconditional love and grace given to us, and give it freely back.”
After an extremely cold, windy day shooting in the mountains, I climbed in the back of Abby and Jake’s warm car to record the words they had just exchanged. While this epic location and gorgeous sunset would have made a perfect back drop for these words, the wind gusts were real this day, and it gave them a chance to soak in their recommitments. With a carseat and children books now filling their backseat, it gave me goosebumps to get to hear their admiration for one another and partnership they have created over the past three years of being married.
The quiet of their car, amongst the heavy gusts of wind outside, created an atmosphere that felt still and content. One that was grounded and focused on what mattered.
Abby’s words hung in the air for me as she continued to tie back each of her “promises” to her “prayers;” continuing to state each recommitted promise to Jake as a prayer to the God that gives them the ability to love one another.
I left that day feeling blessed by her words, and I hope you do too.
